MYERS FAMILY MUSINGS

Really, I'm no good at this!
So much has happened since I last posted! Of course Brytenne was able to be potty trained but we gave up at 20 months and tried again at 26 months and she breezed right through it. Around the time we potty trained Brytenne we found out we were expecting another baby September 2012! We were so excited! We later found out we were to be blessed with another sweet baby girl! Yay for girls!! We had a fantastic Summer of 2012. We made a couple of trips to St George, visited Lagoon multiple times, took swimming lessons, went to Lava, explored Great Falls, Montana for a possible job opportunity and really had a lot of fun! Hopefully this summer can be as activity packed as last! Right now we are settling into a routine with 2 kiddos and loving every minute of it. We are looking into upgrading to a little bigger house in a more "school friendly" neighborhood soon, so that will be so nice for the girls and I. We spend a lot of time, especially in the winter, inside the house so it will be nice to have a little more room. Oh, another big thing that happened since I last blogged is I was called to be the 1st Counselor in the Stake Young Womens in October of 2011. I couldn't believe that they would call me, I was in young womens just a short 10 years ago!! I have loved the calling and couldn't ask for anything more. We are a very blessed little family.

Potty Training a 20 Month Old?
Brytenne has been very interested in the potty recently and we occasionally will put her on her little seat I got for her and she will pee and be so excited! She has also been letting me know that she has to poop or that she just did. I wasn't sure if I was ready to try or even if she was fully ready but she is one smart cookie sooooo we are going to attempt it! My mom came down yesterday to watch her for a couple of hours and while we were away she took Brytenne to Walmart to make a couple of purchases. Aunt Mickie went along to help pick stuff out. Marcus and I arrived home to find my mom had kindly purchased Miss B a deluxe potty (that sings when you pee), some cute little panties (with Minnie Mouse) and some pull-ups for naps. We are going to attempt our first day at panties. I am highly doubtful that she will be able to do it a such a young age but you never know! I am hoping that I have the level of patience needed for such a big task! I did some serious researching online last night and think I have put together a plan that will work best for her and her temperament. Wish us luck!

2 Years to Eternity!
Today I woke up feeling very grateful and blessed. I have struggled with gratitude lately and after a wonderful Young Women's lesson that I gave yesterday on overcoming obstacles I can see just how much my family has been given. Today marks the 2 year anniversary that Marcus and I were able to be sealed for time and all eternity! I don't have the words to describe the feelings I have for this wonderful blessing in our lives. Our Heavenly Father has given us the wonderful gift of forgiveness through the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Not only do we have this but it is continuous! It does not matter how many times we mess things up, we can always be forgiven and overcome obstacles and challenges. We get lots of chances to start over, as long as we are willing to do so and turn to him. I sit here and look at my beautiful picture of the Bountiful Temple and look back 2 years ago at the best decision I made for myself and my family. This time on earth is not easy and it definitly requires us to work daily on bettering ourselves so that we can help lift others up. "Christ doesn't just make up the difference. He makes all the difference." -Brad Wilcox I can't wait to spend forever with my family but for now I am going to enjoy every minute I get with them in this life.

Lava Family Fun
"Cute Cousins"Carson Sorensen & Brytenne Myers
We have returned from our trip up to my parents property in Lava & let me tell y
ou what a blast it was! It was kind of a little family reunion of sorts? Friday the 29th of July would have been my Grandpa Darrell's (Dad's Pavo)100th birthday! So why not get together & PARTY! My Mom, Brytenne and myself went up earlier on Wednesday so we could have some Nana time! We went to the poo
l on Thursday just the three of us and then on Friday my Dad, Aunt Ara and Mickie were able to join us! It seriously was so much fun! It was nice to have some good laughs with them. Friday night the rest of the crew started arriving and we were able to sit around and enjoy each others company. Plus we had a fire that night and that is my favorite all time camping activity! The next morning we had "minute it to win it" games. This was HILARIOUS!! We also had a squirt gun fight with targets. You should have seen some of my crazy cousin running up and down through the brush! We should get together like this more often in my opinion. Brytenne and I had to leave Saturday evening but we left with some great memories, and gratitude for our family.

Whew! This Summer Has Kept Us Busy!
Well I can't say much about my attempts to keep this as up to date as possible. Total failure on my part! I am going to do a big update of some of our summer activities, so here it goes:
At the 1st part of Ju
ne we went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. My mom was able to come with us along with my aunt Jan, cousin Karli, her hubby Jesse and their cute little boy Kayden. We also were able to meet up with Justin, Tami and their boys. It was a lot of fun! Brytenne loved the Meerkats and was intriqued by the dinosaurs. They have a special attraction right now that is called "Zoorasic Park" where they have interactive dinosaurs on display. She also loved the merry-go-round that they have and was totally spoiled the whole day by her Nana! So much fun!
In mid June Marcus and I were able to participate in 3 golf tournaments within a 2 week time span. We had a lot of fun and was able to place in the 1st one, I got longest drive in the 2nd, and the 3rd was a night tournament at Eagle Mountain Golf Course in Brigham City which turned out to be a blast!
Another thing that Brytenne and I have been doing is every Thursday we go to a movie in Brigham City with her cousin Emma and Aunt Kari. So far she has seemed to enjoy that!
The 1st of July we went to the Roy Aquatic Center with Marcus' family. His mom Suzanne took all of us to breakfast/brunch at IHOP and then off to swim! Brytenne absolutely loves water parks! She even went down the big curly slide 3 times with the help of mom and dad. She is getting so big!
The following Sund
ay we headed up to Island Park for the week of July 4th! My grandparents have property up there and we went up to spend the week with my family. It was an absolute blast! We had fun 4-wheeling, swimming, fishing, seeing lots of wildlife. Marcus unfortunately was not able to stay the entire week but he was missed! We were able to ride into West Yellowstone on the 4-wheelers, drove our vehicles into Yellowstone (Brytenne's 1st Trip), seen a mommy moose and her 2 calfs, buffalo, and lots and lots of Mosquitos!! I was sad when we finally had to go home.
Marcus and I were able to take Brytenne to her 1st Rodeo during Ogden Pioneer Days. She loves animals and seemed to enjoy it. I always like me a good rodeo!

Tomorrow Brytenne and I are leaving again to go up to Lava and spent some time up there with my family. I feel bad that Marcus has to stay home and work. Work......who needs it right?
That pretty much sums up most of the big adventures! We have kept busy in between with swimming in the yard, riding our bikes and keeping cool in this heat! I love the Summer!!

Blogging Again
I have started a couple of blogs and to my dismay have not kept any of them up! I am now starting this one determined to keep up on my families activities, keeping this as a journal. I wish I would have written down more things the past 2 years. It seems I have missed out on the opportunity to journal most of Brytenne's milestones, although I keep a written journal that is mine I want to be able to post pictures along with it and since I am really, really bad at scrapbooking this will due!
